C83600 Leaded Red Brass

C83600 leaded red brass datasheet with common names, chemical composition, mechanical properties, machinability, fabrication notes, applications, and available forms.

What is C83600 Leaded Red Brass?

C83600 leaded red brass is a cast copper alloy commonly used for valves, fittings, pump parts, plumbing components, and general cast hardware. It is often called SAE 40, ounce metal, or 85-5-5-5 because the alloy is built around copper with roughly balanced additions of lead, tin, and zinc.

For bearing and bushing buyers, C83600 is not the same choice as C93200 / SAE 660. It is useful for cast components that need good machinability, pressure-tightness, and corrosion resistance, but the final selection should follow the drawing, pressure service, and applicable lead-content requirements.
