Custom CNC bronze parts are machined from drawings, samples, or reverse-engineered dimensions when a catalog bushing or standard washer is not enough. Common parts include bronze bushings, flanged bearings, lead screw nuts, wear pads, spacers, collars, valve parts, pump components, and obsolete replacement parts.
For buyers, the quoting conversation usually starts with alloy, tolerance, quantity, and function. If the print only says “bronze,” we can help narrow the material family based on load, speed, lubrication, corrosion, and mating components.
| Quick spec | Catalog reference |
|---|---|
| Part type | CNC turned, milled, bored, grooved, drilled, or threaded bronze component |
| Common alloys | C93200, C95400, C86300, C95800, C51000, brass and copper alloys |
| Common tolerance reference | +/- .001” is common for precision CNC features when the geometry supports it |
| Common features | Oil grooves, graphite plugs, keyways, threads, flanges, flats, holes |
| Input needed | Drawing, sample, CAD file, or full dimensional sketch |
Manufacturing & Performance
Custom bronze parts are usually machined from continuous cast bar, cored bar, plate, or forged/cast stock depending on the final geometry. Turning is used for sleeves, rings, nuts, and collars. Milling is used for flats, bolt patterns, pockets, and non-round profiles.
The right material matters as much as the machining. C93200 is a workhorse bearing bronze. C95400 and C86300 are stronger choices for load. SAE 841 is used when oil-impregnated porous bronze is required. Copper alloys are used when conductivity is part of the job.
Standard Tolerances
Custom machining should follow the print. When no drawing tolerance is supplied, the RFQ should define a commercial tolerance block before production.
| Feature | Typical quoting reference | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Precision turned features | +/- .001” when geometry allows | Confirm by drawing and inspection method |
| General machined dimensions | Quote by print | Tolerance affects price and lead time |
| Bores and ODs | Match shaft and housing fits | Installed clearance is often more important than nominal size |
| Concentricity / runout | Quote by drawing | Define datums clearly |
| Threads and grooves | Specify standard and class | Include grease groove shape when required |
Size & Availability
Custom CNC bronze parts can be made from inch or metric drawings. Provide the latest revision, material callout, tolerance block, finish requirement, heat treatment if any, and inspection requirements.
Alternative Alloys
