Bronze Cored Bar

Bronze cored bar and hollow bar stock for efficient machining of sleeve bushings, bearings, rings, and bronze components.

Bronze cored bar stock with hollow center for machining bushings and bearings

Bronze cored bar is hollow bronze stock used to machine sleeve bushings, bearing rings, spacers, and parts with a through-bore. It reduces scrap and machining time compared with starting from solid bar and drilling out the center.

For cast bronze bearing work, C93200 / SAE 660 cored bar is one of the most common stock choices. High-strength and special-service parts may use C95400, C86300, C95500, or marine bronze alloys.

Manufacturing & Performance

Continuous cast cored bar is produced with a controlled bore and dense bronze structure, giving machinists a stable starting point for ID finishing, OD turning, grooves, chamfers, and flange features.

The biggest advantage is efficiency. When the finished part is a sleeve or ring, cored bar removes less material, shortens cycle time, and lowers the amount of bronze converted to chips.

Size & Availability

Specify cored bar as OD x ID x length. Inch and metric requirements can be quoted as raw stock, cut blanks, or finished machined bushings. If the finished part has a very small bore or heavy solid features, Bronze Solid Bar may be the better starting form.

Alternative Alloys

Typical Applications

  • Sleeve bushings, flanged bearings, bearing rings, and spacers.
  • Pump bushings, gearbox sleeves, pivot bearings, and rebuild parts.
  • Custom CNC bronze components with a through-bore.
